Description:  Capital Area Statues, Inc. donated the statue of famed musician Willie Nelson to stand in downtown Austin at the intersection of Lavaca St. & Willie Nelson Blvd. (a portion of 2nd St. named in his honor). Nelson was in the first episode of the long-running TV series Austin City Limits and has done much to cement Austin’s reputation as the Live Music Capital of the World, though he is not originally from the city. ACL Live at the Moody Theatre, where the current Austin City Limits show is filmed, is on the same block as the statue.
