Description:  Two Moons is a 2010 painted collage by India Cruse-Griffin. The work depicts a couple standing in front of trees and houses. The work is made from collaged paper that has been overpainted to create the image. This work measures 25 by 24 inches framed and is currently on display in the 3rd Floor Surgery Registration Waiting Lobby of the Eskenazi Hospital Building. The world of India Cruse-Griffinuo;s work encompasses strong women, rural and urban settings and the joy of living day-to-day. Her paint-and-paper collages inspire through their simplicity and directness, the layers expressing the textures of experience her characters have accumulated.

India Cruse-Griffin has a BS in Art Education from Ball State University and currently resides in her native Richmond, Indiana. She is an extremely active artist exhibiting and receiving awards from the Richmond Art Museum, Indiana University East and the Northern Indiana Arts Association. Her reputation has gained statewide and national attention from exhibitions at the Indiana State Museum and the National Black Fine Art Show held annually in New York. She designed the Governor’s Arts Awards in 2009, and her work is in the permanent collections of the Indiana State Museum, the Indiana Governor’s Residence, Indiana University (both in Bloomington and at IUPUI), Richmond Community Schools, the Richmond Art Museum and Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond. She continues to teach art at Richmond Senior High School, where she won two Teacher of the Year awards in 2010-2011.
