Description: A New Haven World War I hero, Corporal Timothy Ahearn was a member of Company C, 102nd U.S. Infantry, 26th Division. He won the Distinguished Service Cross for action at Verdun by assuming control of his broken unit and wrote a note to his superiors stating he was "ready for any duty I am called to perform."
