Description:  "The Pyramid" was designed by James Rossant for Lake Anne Village Center in 1965. It is seven feet tall, one foot per step, and was fashioned of reinforced concrete poured in place. It even originally had a water fountain inside. In Phyllis Hattis' article, "sculpture: the rest of reston," she notes that it was nicknamed "The Cave" by "those under 5 feet." Hattis notes that it "reflects the stepped, pyramidal facades of the rowhouses adjacent to it." The structure can be enjoyed from both the outside and inside.
