Description:  "Pursuing Perspective" addresses the life long process of gaining perspective on life. The library is a place for gaining perspective through knowledge. The more one reads and learns about particular disciplines and a variety of subjects the more complex and solid one's perspective on life becomes. On the left the sculpture is created with renaissance perspective. On the right, the screen is built with byzantine, contrasting styles of learning. This piece reads vertically as well as side to side. Small children can grow up with it. First they would see the brightly painted structure below. They would eventually grow up into the Solar System, asking questions along the way. On the opposite wall the sculpture installation is painted as if it were viewed through a fish eye lens. Messages written backwards on the sculpture are deciphered in the small 18" round painting. The sculpture installation measure 6' x 7' x 20".
