Description:  In conjunction with a comprehensive plan for Lady Bird Lake, a reservoir on the Colorado River in downtown Austin that is encircled by a popular hike-and-bike trail, the City commissioned metal gazebos to replace three deterioriating wooden ones. This gazebo, designed and built by a team of local artists and architects called the Austin Group, is one of Austin’s earliest Art in Public Places projects. The work is a steel and iron sculptural shape inspired by the movement of birds.
