Description:  This simple white garden fence is shaped in the outline of the continental United States, with no gates offering a way in or out. For the artist, it is a symbol of the American dream and/or nightmare for our nation of immigrants. The perception of one’s vulnerability or protection depends upon which side of the fence you find yourself on. Texas Biennial 2009 Temporary Public Art
