Description:  This sculpture by artist Mel Katz, combines elements of sculpture and painting. The free standing "hybrid" sculpture maintains its flat surface with painted interior shapes that overlap and interlock creating the illusion of dimension rather than expressing it through volume. The lower half of the sculpture, with its elongated black shapes and welded base plates, suggest the figurative association of pant legs, which inspired the title Daddy Long Legs.
